Social Sciences Career Panel – Mental health, addictions, social policy, palliative care and more

On November 7, staff from Good Shepherd Centres will join Social Sciences students on campus to discuss the diverse career opportunities available in the social services sector.

This unique event involves professionals working in roles related to:

  • mental health
  • addictions
  • social policy and advocacy
  • affordable and supportive housing
  • poverty alleviation
  • palliative care

 Panelists will share their career insights and chat about education, advice, trends in the field, and more!

 Students will have the opportunity to ask questions, hear stories, and be exposed to many careers that are a fit with their Social Sciences education.

Good Shepherd Centres is also partnering with the Office of Experiential Education to offer students a Career Pop-Up, where students will visit two youth service centres committed to helping youth who may be struggling with poverty, family conflict, homelessness, mental health, abuse or neglect.
